On every child's twelfth birthday, a spirit beast reveals where that child belongs. Zara Washington receives Pudge, a sleepy gray blob ranked dead last at the Beast Taming Academy. His blank evolution tree does not respond the way the official charts say it should, which makes their apparent weakness the beginning of a much larger question.
Across eight books, training and tournaments expand into wild zones, mass evolution, broken bonds, and the history behind the ranking system itself. Progress remains visible, but Zara's choices determine what Pudge becomes. The series repeatedly asks whether strength is a score, an ability, a relationship, or the courage to reject a harmful rule.

How many Beast Rank books are there?

Is Beast Rank similar to a creature-collecting game?
