Readers and email signup

Books and free samples may be read by families. Newsletter subscribers must confirm that they are at least 13 years old, or that they are a parent or guardian submitting their own email address. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. A parent or guardian who believes a child submitted personal information can contact support@coledeckerauthor.com to request deletion.

Information we collect

Newsletter signup records the submitted email address and consent to receive Cole Decker book news. When an adult buys a product, Stripe processes payment and provides transaction details such as the purchaser's email, payment status, purchased product, and transaction identifier. We use the purchase email to deliver files and recover download links. Support messages contain the information the sender chooses to provide.

Email choices

Newsletter messages are promotional email and will include a way to unsubscribe. Transactional delivery, recovery, refund, or support messages may still be sent when needed to service an order. An unsubscribe request does not cancel an existing purchase or remove records that must be retained for accounting, fraud prevention, or legal obligations.

Service providers

We use Stripe for checkout, Vercel for hosting and private file delivery, Neon for the site database and hashed abuse-prevention counters, and Resend for transactional and opted-in email. Those providers process data under their own terms and privacy policies.

How information is used

We use information to send requested book news, complete orders, deliver files, prevent abuse, answer support requests, comply with legal obligations, and maintain the security of the store. We do not sell personal information.

Retention and security

Newsletter information is retained until the subscriber unsubscribes or requests deletion, subject to a minimal suppression record needed to honor the unsubscribe. Transaction records may be retained as needed for support, accounting, fraud prevention, and legal obligations. Download links are signed and expire; paid files are not placed in the public website directory. No internet system is completely secure.

Your choices

You may unsubscribe through any promotional email or request access, correction, or deletion of information held directly by this site by emailing support@coledeckerauthor.com.

Material changes will be posted on this page with a revised date.
